Dear Sir:
Perhaps readers would be interested in the correction of an error in our paper which appeared in the December, 1976 issue of The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.
In our paper, "The Effect on Intestinal Transit and the Feces of Raw and Cooked Bran in Different Doses" (Wyman, Heaton, Manning, Wicks) the error appeared in the last sentence of the first paragraph. As it was printed, it made little sense. The sentence should read: "Recent studies in healthy volunteers and patients have usually reported faster intestinal transit and increased fecal weight with raw or unprocessed bran (13-16), bran cereal (17), bran biscuits (18), and raw bran and/or whole meal bread (19, 20)."
