This paper has presented a procedural flow chart designed to monitor and control a nutritional intervention program in a developing country. The framework may be used with Critical Path Scheduling techniques to provide the decision maker with some objective criteria for evaluating a specific program. In addition, the model makes explicit the considerable interdependence of nutrition and product marketing in a successful program. A hypothetical program was formulated and a CPS analysis of the system was illustrated.
It would appear that the techniques of systems analysis could be applied fruitfully to other nutritional programs. The system illustrated here is only one of many possible examples. Such an application should improve the allocation of resources and scheduling needs of projects of this type.
