Estimation of habitual physical activity by questionnaire and interview

The application of questionnaire-interview methods of assessing habitual physical activity in epidemiologic investigations is discussed. Details are given of the procedures used in the Tecumseh Community Health Study. Limitations of this approach and previous studies are reviewed.
